The first auction organized by FireAuction closed on August 2, 2026, with a concrete result: 22 lots of pigeons from the Parra Negra Canarias 25-26 Grand Final, 111 registered bids, and 23 buyers from various countries. The reserve price was set at 100 euros, and the highest bid reached 735 euros, with three birds exceeding 250 euros.
The context: the best specimens of the Canary Islands season
The pigeons auctioned participated in the 27th Parra Negra Canarias Derby Grand Final , held last June from La Palma over a distance of approximately 250 km with two open-sea crossings. Manuel Jeréz Acosta won the race with 61 pigeons qualifying. What has not been analyzed until now is the valuation this same group of pigeons has received when offered to buyers worldwide.
FireAuction announced the first lot on July 12, just four weeks after the race. Bidding remained open on the platform for several weeks, in real time, before closing permanently on August 2.
The most outstanding prices
The most hotly contested lot was pigeon FCC-25-529522 , which finished 15th in the Grand Final and belonged to the T. Elianares loft. It fetched €735 (the winning bid) with 27 bids and was purchased by Alonso Lugo Hernández. This is the highest price of the entire auction, remarkable precisely because it didn't come from a top-10 finisher but from a loft whose reputation seems to have carried as much weight as the individual result of the bird.
The second highest price was achieved by ESP-25-189385 , from the Hnos Hernández loft: 295 euros with 16 bids. This male finished 23rd in the Final but ranked 7th in the AS Paloma ranking , which measures consistency throughout the season. The buyer was Juanluis Garcias Cruz.
The third most valuable lot was SRB-25-626779 , from the T. Jassins & Soran loft (Serbia), which finished 14th in the race and 1st in the AS Pigeon ranking for the season. It sold for 255 euros with 12 bids, and the buyer was Ionut Ionut.
Race position versus market value
The data from this auction offers a lesson that every pigeon fancier knows but that is rarely so clear on paper: in the pigeon market, the specific result matters, but the pedigree and reputation of the breeder can weigh equally or even more.
The pigeon that finished 6th (FCC-25-529946, AS Paloma 10ª , Ameen Albaghly loft) and the one that finished 7th (FCC-25-529955, AS 20ª , Fabelo loft) were both sold for 115 euros with only two bids each. In contrast, T. Elianares' pigeon in 15th position fetched six times that price.
The loft of the champion of this edition, Manuel Jeréz Acosta, presented a bird in the lot (FCC-25-505653, ranked 46th) which sold for the reserve price of 100 euros without any bids. The fact that the winning loft had a bird with no demand does not diminish the champion's achievement: it simply illustrates that buyers are looking for a specific type of bird and that they know how to distinguish between the individual bird and the loft as a whole.
International demand
Among the 23 buyers were enthusiasts from several countries. The ring prefixes for the lots included Serbia (SRB) and Kuwait (KW), and names from Persian Gulf countries appeared among both buyers and sellers. In July, FireAuction expanded registration to include phone numbers from that region, which partly explains the auction's geographic reach.
For Canary Island breeders and federations, this means direct access to an export market that previously required intermediaries or personal contacts outside of Spain.
